Community Guidelines

Whoever holds the spotlight is seen by everyone, so these rules are strict and we enforce them. They apply to your profile, your photos, your messages, and how you use the app.

Last updated October 11, 2026

In one line

Be an adult, be yourself, be decent, and don't post anything you wouldn't show a stranger on the street.

01Adults only

Spotlight is for people 18 and older. Don't use Spotlight if you're under 18, and don't post photos of anyone under 18, including photos of children with you. We remove accounts that appear to belong to minors, and we have zero tolerance for any content that sexualizes or endangers children. See our Child Safety Standards.

02Be yourself

  • Photos on your profile must be of you. Don't use other people's photos, celebrity photos, or AI-generated images of people.
  • Don't pretend to be someone else, including another user, a public figure, a brand or a business.
  • Use one account. Don't make extra accounts, and don't come back after a ban.
  • Only add an Instagram handle that belongs to you.

03Keep photos clean

Your photos can be seen by everyone, including people who don't have an account. So:

  • No nudity or partial nudity, no sexual acts, and no sexually explicit or suggestive content, including in your About text.
  • Swimwear and gym photos are fine in normal settings. Lingerie, explicit poses, and photos focused on body parts aren't.
  • No graphic violence, gore, weapons pointed at people, or drug use.
  • No hate symbols, and no text in photos that would break these rules.
  • No photos of other people's private information, such as addresses, ID cards or license plates.

04Treat people with respect

  • No harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation, in messages or anywhere else.
  • No hate speech or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious disease, or age.
  • No unwanted sexual messages or images. If someone isn't interested, leave them alone.
  • Don't share anyone else's private information, photos, or messages without their permission.
  • Don't encourage self-harm, suicide or eating disorders. If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

05No selling, scams or spam

  • Don't use Spotlight to advertise, sell or promote products, services, businesses or other apps.
  • No solicitation of any kind, including offering or asking for sexual services, companionship for pay, or "arrangements."
  • Never ask other users for money, gifts, gift cards, crypto, or financial or account information.
  • No scams, phishing, fake giveaways, chain messages, or links meant to trick people.
  • No spam or repeated, unsolicited messages.

06Play fair with the spotlight

  • No bots, scripts, automation, or multiple accounts to claim the spotlight or inflate views, likes, messages or Instagram opens.
  • Don't exploit bugs. If you find one, tell us at support@amos.live.
  • Don't buy, sell or trade accounts or credits outside the app, and don't abuse refunds or chargebacks.

Don't use Spotlight for anything illegal, or to promote illegal activity, including the sale of drugs, weapons or other regulated goods, human trafficking, or violent extremism. Don't post content that infringes anyone's copyright, trademark or other rights.

08Reporting and blocking

  • Report a profile from the ••• menu on the spotlight, or a message from the menu in a conversation. Pick the reason that fits best and add any details. Reports are confidential: the person you report is never told who reported them.
  • Block someone from the same menu. They can't message you, and if they take the spotlight you'll see a notice instead of their profile. Manage blocked people in Settings.
  • Email us at support@amos.live for anything urgent or anything you can't report in the app.

If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 first.

09What happens when rules are broken

A person on our team reviews reports. Depending on how serious the violation is, we may remove content, take a profile out of the spotlight, limit features, suspend the account, or ban it permanently. Banned accounts lose any remaining credits and can't come back. Serious violations, especially anything involving minors, violence or threats, lead to an immediate ban and may be reported to law enforcement.

We may also act on behavior outside Spotlight when it poses a real risk to our users, such as violence or exploitation.

If you think we got something wrong, email support@amos.live and we'll take another look.

These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. We update them as Spotlight grows.
