Child Safety Standards

Spotlight is for adults only, and we have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. These are our published standards and how we enforce them.

Last updated October 11, 2026

01Our standard

Spotlight strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind. This includes, but isn't limited to:

  • any content that depicts, sexualizes or promotes the sexual abuse or exploitation of a minor, including drawn, animated, edited or AI-generated content;
  • grooming, meaning any attempt to build a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes;
  • sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images of a minor;
  • sexual or romantic solicitation of a minor, or any attempt to contact a minor through Spotlight;
  • trafficking of minors, or advertising or soliciting minors for any sexual purpose; and
  • sharing, requesting or linking to any such content anywhere.

Violations result in an immediate, permanent ban, and we report them to the authorities as described below.

02Spotlight is 18+ only

  • Every account must give a date of birth at sign-up, and anyone under 18 is refused. Age is also enforced by our database, not just the app.
  • The apps are rated for adults only in the App Store and Google Play.
  • Photos of minors aren't allowed on profiles, even alongside an adult.
  • Any account we believe belongs to a minor is removed.

03How to report

Anyone can report a concern, with or without an account.

  • In the app: tap ••• on the profile or in the conversation, choose Report, and pick "Appears to be under 18" or the reason that fits best. Add any details you can.
  • By email: write to support@amos.live. Describe what you saw and, if you can, the person's display name and when you saw them in the spotlight. Do not send us copies of any abusive images.
  • To NCMEC directly: report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.

04How we respond

  • Reports about minors or child exploitation are prioritized for review ahead of all other reports.
  • We remove violating content and accounts, and ban the people responsible from Spotlight permanently.
  • As required by U.S. federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), when we become aware of apparent CSAM on our service, we report it to NCMEC's CyberTipline, which works with law enforcement.
  • We preserve relevant information as the law requires and cooperate with law enforcement investigations, including responding to valid legal process.
  • We use a combination of user reports, human review, and automated tools to detect prohibited content.

05Compliance with the law

Spotlight complies with all applicable child safety laws and regulations in the United States, including federal reporting obligations for CSAM. These standards are part of our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and we review them regularly.
